Short answer: no. Nothing about building a website needs two people in the same room. What it needs is someone who listens, writes things down and answers the phone.
We are based on the Gold Coast, and we work with small businesses anywhere in Australia. Here is how that actually runs, and what to check before you hire anyone you will not meet in person.
How a build works from a distance
- A fifteen minute call. Phone or video, whichever you prefer. You tell us about the business and what is bugging you about the site. We tell you honestly whether we can help.
- A fixed price in writing. You get the scope and the number before anything starts.
- You send your content. Photos, wording, your logo, your prices. Email is fine. A shared folder is better if there is a lot of it.
- We build it and show you before it goes live. You look at the real site on your own phone and computer, in your own time, and tell us what to change.
- It goes live, then a handover call. We share a screen and show you how to update it yourself.
At no point does anyone need to drive anywhere.
What you get by going local
Being fair about it, there are two real advantages to someone down the road. They may already know your area and your competitors. And they can pop in and take photos.
Neither is about the website itself. A good builder learns your area by asking you about it. And if you need photos, the right answer is a photographer near you, and we will tell you straight if you need one.
What matters more than the postcode
- Is the price fixed and written down? An hourly rate from a stranger is a blank cheque.
- Will the site be in your name? Domain, hosting and logins. See who actually owns your website.
- Can you ring a person? Ask who answers, and try the number before you pay anything.
- Is there an Australian business behind it? Look for an ABN on the website and check it on the free ABN Lookup.
- Are they in your time zone, near enough? A builder who is awake when you are makes the two rounds of changes take days instead of weeks.
Why we work Australia wide
A plumber in Ballarat and a physio in Cairns have the same website problems as a cafe on the Gold Coast. An old site, a lost login, a contact form that stopped working. The fix is the same wherever you are.
So the process is the same too. A call, a fixed price, a build you approve, and a handover. If you want to know what that costs, the numbers are here.
